Introduction
In power battery manufacturing, the calendering process directly affects the compaction density, thickness uniformity and surface quality of anode sheets, and is critical to cell performance stability. During prolonged continuous operation, graphite, binder and other contaminants accumulate on the roller surface. As deposits build up, they alter roller topography and cause sheet defects, dark spots and material shedding, undermining downstream process stability and yield.

Traditional manual offline wiping fails to meet the demands of high-speed continuous production: lengthy downtime, experience-dependent cleaning quality, high risk of roller scratching and hard-to-control dust, which cannot satisfy modern production lines’requirements for cycle time, consistency and cleanliness.
Leveraging its expertise in laser processes and lithium battery automation equipment, UW Laser independently developed the UW Laser Roll Cleaning Machine. It replaces manual wiping with on-line laser cleaning, delivering a cleaner, more stable and controllable roller maintenance solution for anode calendering.
UW Laser Roller Cleaning Machine
The UW Laser Roller Cleaning Machine automatically cleans the roller surface of negative electrode calender rolls. Its laser unit removes deposits on the calender roll, controls deposit thickness, and collects all generated dust automatically. It causes no damage to rolls and no adverse impact on electrode sheet quality.

It supports "in-line cleaning" during normal calender operation, synchronized with production without shutdown, to guarantee product pass rate for subsequent inspection.
Core Technologies
Integrated Roller Cleaning Mechanism
Equipped with 4 sets of laser cleaning systems in an integrated layout for easy installation alongside the calender and convenient maintenance.
Uniform Top-Hat Laser Beam
The laser forms a focused top-hat beam with even energy distribution, eliminating localized overheating and roll damage risks.
Synchronized Cleaning for Upper & Lower Rolls
Cleans upper and lower calender rolls simultaneously to strip surface deposits and control buildup thickness.
Automatic Dust Collection
All dust generated during cleaning is captured automatically, keeping the roll and surrounding area clean.
Equipment Advantages
Synchronized Working Condition Adaptation
In-line cleaning is synchronized with the host's start/stop, acceleration, deceleration and constant-speed states; cleaning actions adjust automatically accordingly.
Compatible with High-Speed Production
Supports a maximum line speed of 120 m/min to meet high-takt continuous production.
Wide Compatibility & Zero Roller Damage
Works for single or multi-strip electrode production. It automatically avoids non-contact roller zones to prevent roller surface damage.
Low-Temperature-Rise Cleaning
No substantial temperature rise on the roller surface. The peak instantaneous temperature at the laser spot is below 120°C, eliminating thermal side effects on rollers and electrodes.
·END·
Driven by the trend of high-speed and continuous production in power battery lines, roller fouling remains a critical pain point in calendering. UW Laser Roller Cleaning Machine by United Winners Laser features non-stop in-line cleaning, synchronous dust collection and damage-free roller control. It effectively solves deposit buildup and low efficiency of manual wiping, delivering a roller maintenance solution balancing quality, efficiency and stability for calendering processes.
Going forward, UW Laser will keep addressing practical bottlenecks in key lithium battery manufacturing steps, further integrating laser technology with automated equipment to help customers build more efficient, reliable and competitive power battery production lines.
